About the Course
Who are you, and how can art help express it? In Self Portrait Exploration, students will create unique self portraits using drawing, collage and sculpting while exploring identity, emotions, memories and imagination. Throughout the course, children will experiment with different artistic approaches to represent themselves: Realistic and expressive portraits.
Students will reflect on questions like:
What makes me unique?
What colors represent my personality?
What do I love?
What emotions or memories would I like to express?
How can shapes, textures and materials tell a story about me?
The course encourages curiosity, confidence and freedom of expression while helping kids see art as a tool for self discovery and communication. By the end of the course, each student will create a deeply personal collection of artworks and a final mixed media self portrait that celebrates their individuality, creativity and voice.
